Nigeria Introduces Revised Gas Transportation Network Code

On 26 October 2026, the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority launched Revision II of the Nigerian Gas Transportation Network Code at OTL Africa Downstream Energy Week in Lagos. The revised framework introduces updated rules for pipeline capacity booking, gas nominations, balancing, measurement and quality standards, while the regulator reported that imbalances on the Western Network had fallen by around 30% since the earlier revision. No separate implementation contract value was disclosed.
